What to try when a Vietnam eVisa photo will not upload
An upload error does not always mean the portrait itself is wrong. iPhone photos can also fail because of file format, embedded metadata, file size or a temporary portal problem.
Before changing the photo
Use only the official Vietnam National Electronic Visa system and read the requirements displayed in the current application form. Rules and portal behaviour can change, so the values shown during your application take priority over old forum posts.
Four checks that often help
- Make a real JPEG. Changing a filename from
.heicto.jpgdoes not convert the image. Export a newly encoded JPEG instead. - Match the displayed dimensions. If the form specifies an aspect ratio, pixel width or pixel height, use those exact values without stretching the face.
- Reduce the file size carefully. Set the maximum file size shown by the portal, but avoid crushing the image so much that the face becomes blurred or blocky.
- Retry the portal cleanly. Use the current official site, sign in again if the session has expired, and try another browser or network if the same freshly exported file still fails.
How Photo Lili can help on iPhone
Choose Custom size, enter the width and height shown by the application, set a target file-size limit, frame the portrait without distortion, and save. Photo Lili renders a new JPEG on the device rather than uploading the portrait to our server.

Custom pixels, physical units, DPI and target file size are available in Photo Lili.
